New Delhi: Gujarat Titans suffered a 6-run loss to Rajasthan Royals in a high-scoring match in the Indian Premier League, but the biggest talking point after the match was the fitness of their usual skipper, Shubman Gill.
Stand-in captain Rashid Khan offered some reassurance, saying: “He’s good. Hopefully he’ll be OK in the next game. He just had a cramp, so hopefully he’ll be OK soon.”Where GT lost the gameRashid admitted that the team started well with the ball and bat, but lost control during a crucial stage. “I felt we made a great start with the openers. Then in the 12th and 13th overs I felt we lost back-to-back wickets.
“This is something that really put us on the defensive.”

He added that the goal was achievable, but momentum had declined. “On wickets like that, 9-10 every over, it’s not the hard work to do… but I think we just lost a few quick early wickets… which didn’t allow us to keep going.”The final finish and fightChasing 211, Gujarat needed 11 runs in the over, but Tusshar Deshpande held his nerve brilliantly. Rasheed revealed that the plan was simple: “Well, the discussion was clear, like we only need to get to one limit.”
However, he credited the bowler, saying, “I think Tusshar bowled really well. He bowled some exceptional New Yorkers.”Rashid also admitted that he missed an important opportunity: “The only ball that missed his line and length, I should have hit it for a six.”Despite the loss, Rashid remained optimistic about the next season. “It will be a long tournament and we will learn from it and come back stronger.”Overall, while Gujarat failed to finish the match on a clean note, the update on Gill’s injury will come as a big relief for the team going forward.
