This achievement highlights Rohit’s consistency and dominance over the years, especially against Delhi. Although he did not play a major role in the match, the feat stood out as an important personal accomplishment.Globally, the record still belongs to Chris Gayle, who smashed the most sixes against a single team in the history of the Indian Premier League. Among Indian players, Rohit now tops the list, followed by Dhoni and Virat Kohli.Rohit also came close to achieving another major milestone, 6000 runs for Mumbai Indians in the IPL, but failed to reach eleven runs. Despite this, his record-breaking six-peat added another feather to his already impressive career.
Even on a day when he didn’t get a big score, Rohit managed to make headlines, proving once again why he remains one of the most influential players in the history of the Indian Premier League. In the match, Samir Rizvi smashed a brilliant 90 off 51 balls to lead Delhi Capitals to a comfortable six-wicket win over Mumbai Indians. Mumbai posted a modest average of 162/6, with Rohit Sharma (35), Suryakumar Yadav and Nauman Dheer (28) being the main contributors, while Mukesh Kumar (2/26) struck early blows.Chasing 163, Delhi lost KL Rahul and Nitish Rana cheaply, but Pathum Nissanka’s quick 44 stabilized the innings. Rizvi then took control, hitting seven sixes and seven fours, as Delhi chased down the target by just 18.1 overs.
