Prithvi Shaw announced his engagement to long-time partner Akriti Agarwal on Sunday, sharing the happy news with fans through a series of pictures on social media. The Indian batsman posted glimpses of the intimate ceremony, and the pictures quickly gained attention online as fans and well-wishers flooded the comments with congratulatory messages.Agarwal, an actress and social media influencer, has previously been spotted with Shaw on several occasions. Their relationship has often drawn attention online, and the engagement announcement has sparked excitement among the cricketer’s followers.See also: IND vs NZ T20 World Cup 2026 live score

Along with the photos, Shaw posted a heartfelt caption reflecting on the new chapter in his life. “From sixes on the field to a lifetime of hits off the field. It’s my perfect innings! #justengaged,” Prithvi wrote on Instagram.

The engagement comes shortly after Shaw’s childhood friend, Arjun Tendulkar, tied the knot with Sanya Chandhok earlier this week. With the celebrations over, Shaw will soon shift his focus to cricket as the upcoming Indian Premier League season approaches. The right-handed batsman will represent the Delhi Capitals, who picked him up for Rs 75 lakh during the auction. However, it remains to be seen whether he will secure a regular place in the starting lineup.

Shaw’s return to Delhi is noteworthy as he was not sold during the IPL 2025 auction before being brought back by the franchise that has been his home since the beginning of his IPL journey. He made his debut in the league in 2018 and has spent his entire ISL career with the Capitals.Across 79 matches in the tournament, Shaw scored 1,892 runs at an average of almost 24 and a strike rate of 147.46, including 14 half-centuries. Despite these numbers, inconsistent form over the last few seasons saw him struggle for momentum, which ultimately led to him not being sold last year. However, Shaw showed signs of revival in domestic cricket while representing the Maharashtra cricket team. This improvement has helped him earn another contract in the Indian Premier League, and he will now look to make the most of the opportunity and re-establish himself in the league.
