MI vs RCB in Mumbai (ANI Image)
Mumbai Indians (MI) and defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will take on tonight, April 12, 2026, at the Wankhede Stadium for Match 20 of the Indian Super League. The high-voltage IPL clash between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Wankhede is set to be headlined by the iconic rivalry between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Former India pacer Irfan Pathan believes RCB may have momentum on their side heading into their IPL 2026 match against Mumbai Indians, but the latter is ahead in terms of overall personnel. Both teams are coming off defeat to Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati, raising questions ahead of this high-stakes encounter.

Pathan pointed out that while RCB started strong at home, their form dropped once they reached the road.“RCB are traveling now. When they played their first two home games, they won comfortably, but the moment they went on the road, they lost in Guwahati to Rajasthan Royals. So, there will be some questions in the camp. I feel the match may be decided by which team plays better in the end, and the draw will also be an important factor. RCB has the form, but in man-to-man comparison, I feel Mumbai is a little ahead,” Pathan said on JioHotstar, as the league enters a ‘rivalry week’.
Death and ejaculation may be decisive
Pathan emphasized that execution in the final stages can ultimately determine the outcome, especially in conditions where chasing teams often have an advantage. While RCB’s recent performance gives them confidence, he believes the depth of MI’s squad provides a slight advantage in the direct comparison.
