Ramakrishna Ghosh rose to the limelight after earning his ISL debut for Chennai Super Kings in their high-profile encounter against Mumbai Indians in Chepauk. The Indian all-rounder, who was picked at a starting price of INR 30 lakh, comes as part of two changes made by captain Ruturaj Gaikwad. Ghosh replaced Gurjapneet Singh in the starting XI and CSK also brought in Prashant Veer in place of Akeal Hosein. His inclusion comes at a crucial stage of the season, as Chennai look to revive their season. A right-arm medium-pace bowler and right-handed batsman, Ghosh built his reputation through consistent domestic performances for Maharashtra. He made headlines during the Vijay Hazare Trophy when he produced a stunning spell of 7 for 42 against Himachal Pradesh, becoming one of the few players to take seven wickets in a List A match.

This performance put him firmly on the radar. He has also shown his ability with the bat. In the same tournament, he smashed a quick 64 off 27 balls against Mumbai, underscoring his value as a lower-order batsman. His all-round skills were most evident in the Maharashtra Premier League, where he contributed an impactful innings, including 52 off 33 balls. Ghosh is known primarily for his disciplined bowling, relying on accuracy, seam movement and consistency rather than raw speed.
