Devajit Saikia: IPL 2026 Qualifiers venues will be decided in a day or two

Mumbai: The BCCI will announce the venues for the IPL 2026 qualifiers in a couple of days. “We are working on what could be the venue for the IPL qualifiers and the final. So, we will take two more days,” BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia told reporters at the BCCI headquarters here on Saturday, right after announcing the squad for the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup. The BCCI secretary refused to reveal whether the designated venues – Mullanpur and Bengaluru – by virtue of rivals Royals Bengaluru and Punjab Kings being last year’s finalists and champions, will host the qualifying matches. “You can keep guessing, but I won’t give you an answer. We’ll get a call in a couple of days,” he said. Mullanpur hosted Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator, while the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad (Kolkata’s Eden Gardens is the final by agreement) hosted Qualifier 2 and the Away Final last season, which was interrupted for a while due to the Indo-Pakistani War. The BCCI has not announced the dates for the IPL 2026 qualifiers, other than announcing that the final will be held on May 31.
