Vaibhav Sooryavanshi once again hogged the limelight in IPL 2026 after scoring a world record thriller during Rajasthan Royals’ match against Gujarat Titans in Jaipur on Saturday. The 15-year-old prodigy became the youngest cricketer in history to smash 100 T20 sixes before turning 20. He also broke the record for the fastest bowler to reach the milestone in terms of facing balls, needing just 514 deliveries to get there and surpass Kieron Pollard’s long-standing mark of 843 balls.

It is appropriate that this teacher comes in such a courageous manner. Facing Mohammed Siraj, Sooryavanshi fired the first ball he faced for a huge six over an over, showing absolutely no concern for reputation or pressure despite RR chasing a mammoth target of 230 runs. The teenage sensation continued to attack the Gujarat Titans bowlers and raced to 36 off just 16 balls, smashing three fours and three sixes during another stunning cameo at the top of the order. However, Siraj ultimately had the final say in a dramatic battle. The GT driver unleashed a short fireball at 146.6km/h which prompted Sooryavanshi to hit a foul shot, and Arshad Khan completed the catch. Siraj celebrated vigorously after the wicket, and roared happily after the dangerous youngster was dismissed. This achievement also carries additional significance considering the opponent. Sooryavanshi had announced himself to the cricket world against Gujarat Titans last season with a sensational 35-ball knock.
One year later, he again produced a highlight-reel moment against the same team. The record came during an overall difficult evening for Rajasthan Royals after Gujarat Titans made 229/4, buoyed by brilliant batting from

Sai Sudharsen. But even with GT’s dominance, Sooryavanshi managed to create history with a single stroke of the bat.
