New Delhi: Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya missed the encounter against Delhi Daredevils due to the virus, but is set to return for the five-time champions’ away clash against Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati on Tuesday. Pandya traveled with the rest of the squad immediately after the afternoon match in Delhi and will resume training after being away from action for the past few days.

The team was scheduled to fly from Delhi immediately after the match and the MI management did not want to take any risks with their first-choice player. Pandya traveled to Delhi but missed the team’s two pre-match training sessions due to illness.A lot of changes were made to the playing XI for the match against Delhi Capitals, but the result did not go MI’s way as the Surya-led unit was outplayed by six wickets. After a disciplined effort with the ball, Delhi, who were outscoring Samir Rizvi, chased down the total in just 18.1 overs to hand MI their first defeat of the season.
