A nine-year-old English cricketer achieved a rare feat during a local match by taking six wickets in six balls, leaving his teammates, family and coaches celebrating his achievement.Rohan, who plays for Great Shelford Under-9s cricket team near Cambridge, completed a hat-trick during a match against Histon on Sunday, the BBC reported.
The young bowler dismissed six batsmen with six successive deliveries, finishing with figures of 6 for 0. His spell helped Great Shelford secure a 26-run win.Rohan said the celebrations after the last wicket were unforgettable.“It was very loud,” he said, as quoted by the BBC, recalling how everyone cheered and ran onto the field after the final wicket.For his performance, Rohan received the match ball and was named Player of the Match. The young man said he was playing cricket for his school team and Great Shelford.“It rarely happens,” he added of taking six wickets in six balls.His father, Nareen, said watching his son achieve this feat on Father’s Day made the occasion even more special.“Getting a wicket is a great achievement for someone so young, but wicket after wicket I was very proud of,” Narine said while speaking to BBC.Team coach and match referee Vishal Gupta said he had a perfect vision for the spell.“I had the best seat in the house,” Gupta said. “I took my hat off to the referee and threw him in the air with his team. Everyone was clapping for that.”
