Sivakarthikeyan, who hosted the event, asked: “Are you retiring? But you said so. Are you retiring?” “Absolutely not”. We expect the same answer every year. “You can play until you’re 60.”
Donnie replied smiling: “It’s very difficult”.Sivakarthikeyan added: “With your physical fitness, I think it’s easy”.“It’s very difficult. It’s on the way down, not on the way up. But I’ll try,” Dhoni said.Dhoni’s reply of “I’ll try” was met with thunderous applause, as the audience exploded in excitement.Then a beaming Sivakarthikeyan said: “We’ve got the answer”.
Dhoni has led CSK to five Indian Premier League titles – 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023.CSK will start their IPL 2026 campaign against Rajasthan Royals on March 30 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium.
