The Arunachal festival will be held from 21 to 22 February 2026 at Dilli Haat at INA, New Delhi. The two-day event, organized by the Department of Tourism, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, aims to introduce the heritage, traditions and tourism potential of Arunachal Pradesh to the national capital.
The art of highlighting
Visitors will be able to explore stalls featuring traditional handicrafts, indigenous textiles, bamboo and cane products, tribal jewellery, handicrafts and organic local products sourced from different regions of the state. Authentic Arunachali cuisine prepared with herbs and ingredients specific to the region will also be served.
The main focus of the exhibition is the interaction between artisans and the public. By allowing visitors to meet artisans and cultural representatives directly, the festival highlights traditional knowledge systems while supporting awareness when it comes to promoting sustainability in these areas.
High on culture
The program will include folk music, coordinated cultural performances and an ethnic costume parade representing the attire of the diverse tribal communities of Arunachal. One of the highlights will be the traditional yak dance, which reflects the region’s towering Himalayan culture and the close relationship between local communities and their natural environment.
Pasang Dorje Sona is expected to attend the event, along with dignitaries and invited guests, indicating its importance as a cultural and tourism platform.
Experience sustainable tourism forward
Often called the “Land of the Rising Sun,” Arunachal Pradesh is home to over 26 major tribes and over 100 sub-tribes, along with vast forests, rich biodiversity and growing opportunities for adventure and eco-tourism. Hosting the festival in New Delhi aims to promote targeted awareness.
The event also supports the state’s renewed tourism positioning under the ‘Take a New Turn in Arunachal’ campaign, which encourages immersive travel rooted in culture, sustainability and community engagement. Open to the public from 10:30 am on both days, the festival brings the allure of Arunachali to the heart of the capital.
