Months after getting engaged, Sia Goyal, 20, admitted to killing her fiancé Ketan Agarwal. The case, reminiscent of the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case, has shocked the nation.
Ketan, a 25-year-old real estate manager from Gahungi in Maharashtra, was pushed to death from Lohagad Fort near Lonavala by his fiancée and her lover, officials said. Initially, Ketan’s death was ruled an accident, as he fell into a gorge while taking photos.
As HT reported earlier, the duo has confessed to committing the murder. However, the victim’s father stated that his son’s murder was the second attempt on his life by Goyal, who also hails from a wealthy business family in Pune, and her accomplice, 22-year-old Chetan Chaudhary.
Shocking story on Instagram
After Agarwal’s death on June 18, Goyal posted an Instagram story to mourn her fiancé.
The story read: “You left me on my birthday. You left when we were so close to getting married. I still can’t understand why you did this to me. I had dreams and questions that I will never get answers to. Why did you leave me when I loved you so much? Rest in peace.”
The story showed a video of Ketan talking to someone while turned back in the front seat of the car, followed by footage of the couple dancing, against a romantic song and the caption – “Mere dil ko pata hai ki tu yahi hai. Wapas aaja”. (My heart knows you’re here. Come back.)

Goyal and his alleged lover confess to the murder
According to police, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, her alleged love interest, were in a relationship for the past year.
Investigators said Siya did not want to marry Ketan and saw him as an obstacle, which is why they hatched a plan to kill Agarwal.
According to Ketan’s father, Siya and Chetan allegedly planned to kill his son on June 14, but did not succeed.
Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal, told HT: “They brought him back to the fort on June 18 to carry out the crime. I strongly believe that Siya Goyal’s parents, brother and aunt could also be involved, as they knew everything from the beginning. I hope that all other people involved in this heinous crime will be brought to justice.”
The father also told HT that Ketan has his doubts regarding Sia and Chetan’s relationship.
