The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) kept students anxious for two full days before announcing the CBSE Class 12 results 2026 on Wednesday. Students have been left frustrated and even called the education board “irresponsible” after apps like UMANG and DigiLocker shared “soon” updates of results.

CBSE Class 12 students went from a period of anxious wait to finally being able to check their results on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, UMANG first reposted DigiLocker’s post on May 11, and then shared its own post titled ‘CBSE Class-XII Results Coming Soon’ on May 12.

These apps have also reportedly sent numerous update notifications, sparking anxiety and tension among students awaiting their CBSE Class 12 results.

“Anxiety attacks and hospital examination”

Many students took to X to express their frustration with CBSE. One such post read: “CBSE tweets ‘Don’t wait for tomorrow’ and now the entire country is collectively under anxiety attack. At this point, they are not announcing the results, they are testing the blood pressure of the students.”

“Can you please tell me when is the result day because I am a very anxious person and I also have to go to the hospital for a check-up in the coming days to find out my vitamin levels. So, can you please tell me the exact day so I can hit the kilometres?? Thank you,” another quipped.

Another X user tagged Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and asked why anxious students were going through such tense tension.

“@dpradhanbjp, how difficult will it be for CBSE to post when class and class 12 results will be published? Why do anxious students have to go through such tense uncertainty? There is a timetable for admit card.. exam.. but results depend on the whims of officials,” the post read.

Another social media user asked why UMANG and DigiLocker are tweeting “coming soon” when there is no actual update. “Students are already stressed. Either share confirmed information or stop creating unnecessary suspense,” the user added.

Frustration also turned into several outbursts of meme fests, with one user asking CBSE if it would “take a whole year just to announce the results as well”.

“CBSE, my dear, it’s not a joke anymore, just enter the result,” another asked.
