Amit Shah also criticized Rahul Gandhi for his attendance in the 15th, 16th and 17th Lok Sabha, saying that he was below the national average all three times.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah attacked Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, over his claims of “no opportunity to speak” on Wednesday during the debate on the no-confidence motion against Speaker Om Birla, saying that when the Congress leader gets a chance to speak, he is “seen in Germany, in England”.

Shah also criticized the opposition for questioning the integrity of the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, stating that such a move is tantamount to questioning the foundation of Indian democracy, a foundation that Parliament has made deeper than the ‘pattal’.
Notably, the no-confidence motion against Om Birla was rejected after a voice vote.
During the debate in the Lok Sabha, Shah said: “The LoP has complaints that he is not allowed to speak, that the LoP’s voice is being stifled. I would ask him who will decide who should speak? The Speaker? No, you have to decide this. But when the opportunity comes to speak, you are seen in Germany, in England.”
The Home Minister said that Rahul Gandhi continues to complain despite being given opportunities to speak. Shah asked why, if the Congress MPs had the opportunity to speak for 157 hours and 55 minutes in the 18th Lok Sabha, the PT did not speak?
He watches:
“Who is the Speaker who stopped you? No one can. Misinformation is spreading to discredit the Lok Sabha,” he added.
Amit Shah also raised Gandhi’s previous statements in Lok Sabha, where he challenged the Prime Minister for a discussion at his press conference.
“(Rahul Gandhi) suddenly had an idea – to hold a debate in his own press conference. This is not a market. This is the Lok Sabha… From your great-grandfather to your grandmother to your father, there have been tall leaders in India,” Shah said.
The Interior Minister said that the House of Representatives never held a discussion on anyone’s press conference. “If he expected his ‘great press conference’, which was based on lies, to be discussed in the House, then Om Birla did the House a favor by not allowing his standards to deteriorate,” Shah said.
Amit Shah also read out the LoP attendance record. He said that Rahul Gandhi’s attendance in the 17th House of Representatives was 51 per cent, while the national average was 66 per cent.
“In the 16th Lok Sabha, its attendance was 52%. The national average was 80%. In the 15th Lok Sabha, its attendance was 43%. The national average was 76%,” Amit Shah added.
