The monsoon session of Parliament is likely to start on a confrontational note on Monday as supporters of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) prepare to storm Parliament over alleged failures in the education system. The proposed Sansad Chalo protest led to tight security in central Delhi, with police warning that no permission would be granted for the procession.

What are the demands of the Justice and Development Party?
In a post on X, the CJP said its demands from the government remained unchanged. The group demanded accountability from Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the suicide deaths of more than 20 students and demanded financial assistance from… $1 crore for each affected family.

Abhijit Debaki’s supporters are expected to gather at the planned rally at 9 am, even as Delhi Police warns people against participating in any unauthorized gathering or procession.
Wangchuk sets the conditions for a quick finish
The planned march comes as activist Sonam Wangchuk continues his indefinite hunger strike. Police shifted him to Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital on July 18 amid concerns about his health.
In a handwritten note dated July 19, Wangchuk, who said he was on the 23rd day of his fast, stated the terms under which he would end his protest.
“Dear friends and supporters, many of you have asked when I will end my fast. As we previously mentioned to supporters, I will end my fast on July 20, if…” Wangchuk wrote.
He said he would break his fast if the government accepted responsibility for failures in the education system, including leaking papers. He also sought assurances from MPs, AKP leaders and political parties that the issue would be raised in Parliament.
Wangchuk added that if his health or other circumstances prevent him from continuing, he will break his fast if representatives and leaders of various parties visit him in the hospital and give him the same guarantees.

“From unlawful detention at Safdarjung Hospital, where my freedom of movement, expression and all communication has been restricted,” the memorandum concluded.
