Weather updates: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released the latest weather forecast bulletin for all parts of India on March 8. Large parts of northwest and central India are likely to witness a rise in temperatures over the next few days, while rain and snowfall are expected in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are expected on Monday, March 9 in the Ganges plains of West Bengal. Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Bihar, J&K-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Jharkhand, Odisha, Western Sub-Himalayas and Sikkim are also expected to witness thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds.

1. Jammu and Kashmir: Isolated thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds reach J&K on March 9 and 10. Isolated light rain/snowfall is likely over the state, with an increase in widespread light to moderate rain/snowfall possible during March 10-12, and a decrease in light rain/snowfall from March 13-14.
2. Delhi: The temperature in Delhi will remain above average by 5 to 8 degrees Celsius over the next week. The daytime temperature up to March 11 may range between 36-39°C, before falling marginally to 34-35°C by March 14, as the Western Disturbance begins to impact the western Himalayan region from March 9 onwards.
3. Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand: From March 8 to 9, the heatwave and extreme heatwaves are likely to persist in isolated pockets. Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are likely over HP on March 11-12, along with scattered light rain/snowfall over the states during March 10-14.
4. Rajasthan: The western state of Rajasthan experiences heatwave conditions during March 8-10.
5. Gujarat: Heatwaves in North Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch region on March 9 and 10. Hot and humid conditions are likely to prevail in coastal areas of Gujarat from March 9 to 10.
6. Maharashtra: Marathwada will face a heatwave from March 10-11. Coastal areas of Saurashtra and Kutch witness hot and humid conditions from March 8 to 11.
7. Andhra Pradesh: AP coastal region and areas adjacent to Rayalaseema are witnessing hot and humid conditions at places.
8. Himalayan region- No significant change is likely in the maximum temperatures in the western part during the next two days, and a gradual decrease of about 4-5 degrees Celsius is expected during the following five days.
9. Northwestern region: Maximum temperatures will gradually rise by 1-2 degrees Celsius over the next four days and decrease by 2-3 degrees Celsius over the next three days.
10. Central region: A significant change in maximum temperature over central India is unlikely over the next three days and a rise of around 2°C over the next two days.
11. East India region: East India will witness scattered light/moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-50 kmph during March 9-11 and over North-East India during March 10-14.
