Ahmedabad weather: Sunny skies are rising in Ahmedabad ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final between India and New Zealand on Sunday, March 8, even as netizens are closely monitoring the city’s weather forecast ahead of the much-awaited battle.

Ahmedabad and many parts of Gujarat are witnessing a rise in temperatures as temperatures rise across western India. On Sunday, the IMD website showed a forecast of clear skies in Ahmedabad, where the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 39 degrees Celsius and the minimum around 19 degrees Celsius.
Meteorological officials said daytime temperatures across Gujarat are currently hovering between 35 and 40 degrees Celsius, with a gradual rise of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius expected over the next three days, according to the daily bulletin of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The agency also warned of hot and humid conditions in isolated pockets of Gujarat, especially in coastal areas of Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch regions from March 9 to 11.
This comes ahead of the much-awaited final cricket match of the T20 World Cup, which will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, where huge crowds are expected.

Across India, maximum temperatures on March 7 were well above normal in many areas. The highest temperature of 40.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Akola, Maharashtra, indicating early accumulation of summer heat. In many parts of Rajasthan, southern Haryana, southwestern Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, central India and southern peninsular regions, daytime temperatures have already reached 35-40 degrees Celsius, while most other areas recorded 30-35 degrees Celsius.

Heatwave alerts and temperature trends across India
The IMD issued heatwave warnings for isolated districts of Himachal Pradesh and Vidarbha on March 8, while western Rajasthan may experience a heatwave on March 10 and 11. Temperatures are also significantly higher than normal by 5-8 degrees Celsius in parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, with many areas in northwest and central India recording temperatures 3-5 degrees Celsius higher than normal.

Forecasts indicate that maximum temperatures will gradually rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius over northwest India, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat over the coming days. At the same time, weather activity including rainfall, thunderstorms and gusty winds is expected in parts of eastern and northeastern India, as well as the western Himalayan region between March 8 and 13, which may provide some local relief from the heat.
