Trump also claimed that a drone attack targeted Indian ships exiting the Strait of Hormuz. He described this as “completely unacceptable” and warned that such actions must stop immediately. This came after the United States admitted to bombing three ships carrying Indian crew near Hormuz Starrett. Three people were killed.

“The terms that Iran leaked to the fake news have nothing to do with the terms that were agreed upon in writing,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. He added: “What they said, including their weak and pathetic statement about reaching an agreement, has nothing to do with the truth. Dealing with very dishonest people. With them, there is no such thing as dealing in good faith. Amazing! Also, their completely denied drone attack last night against Indian ships that left the Strait of Hormuz is completely unacceptable. They better act together and quickly.”

Vance talks about the “fake” Iran deal

US Vice President J.D. Vance said there was “a lot of false information” circulating about a possible peace deal with Iran that includes reopening the Strait and efforts to end its nuclear program.

He denied reports that Iran would receive cash or that any money would be released merely for signing or attending meetings, and said that economic benefits would only be achieved if Tehran fulfilled its obligations under any agreement.

Vance added that the proposed deal was designed to prioritize the concerns of the United States and its allies and could “reshape the region” and lead to lasting peace if implemented.

“I’m seeing a lot of fake information about a potential deal to reopen the Strait and end Iran’s nuclear weapons program,” Vance wrote on X. “First, the Iranians are not receiving any money, and no funds are being released simply for signing an agreement or attending a meeting. The deal is designed to ensure that the concerns of the United States and its allies are prioritized, and that if the Islamic Republic of Iran fulfills its commitments, the economic benefits will flow to them and the entire region. This deal has the potential to reshape the nuclear agreement.” region and achieving lasting peace.”

He added: “The president will get us a good result, one way or another.”

Iran sets draft peace framework

Iran had previously published new details about a proposed framework for possible peace arrangements with the United States, according to reports linked to the country. The draft reportedly includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days, the release of nearly $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets, and a 60-day negotiating window on nuclear-related issues.

Iranian officials rejected explanations that Tehran would give up control of the strategic waterway. They said that the Strait of Hormuz would remain under Iranian authority even if commercial navigation resumed. Officials also explained that no final agreement had been reached.

A senior Iranian official also reportedly said that the proposed memorandum of understanding with Washington is “under study” by the senior leadership.

Conflicting claims regarding US-Iranian penetration

Trump indicated that progress toward an agreement had accelerated, claiming to have called off the third straight day of planned strikes on Iran, and indicating that a formal agreement could be signed “very soon.”

Trump said a “big settlement” was being finalized and suggested holding the signing ceremony in Europe, perhaps within days, pending completion of documents. He also claimed that Iran agreed to the features of the deal after being subjected to great pressure.

Iranian official media reported earlier that “Iran rejects Trump’s plan to hold a signing ceremony for the agreement with Vance on the weekend, saying that any plan regarding the signing in Geneva, Switzerland or a face-to-face meeting is nothing but a ‘misunderstanding of American proposals and desires,’ due to the lack of a final agreement.”

Military developments

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed to have carried out retaliatory strikes on US military assets in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan following previous US strikes on Iranian territory. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard also announced a temporary closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

India condemns the US attacks on ships with Indian crew

India strongly protested the US attacks on merchant ships carrying Indian nationals in the Arabian Sea and near the Gulf of Oman. Three Indian sailors were killed.
