Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday attended Shrimad Bhagwat Katha Gyan Yagya and Sant Sammelan organized at Hari Seva Ashram, where he congratulated saints and spiritual leaders and lauded the ashram’s contribution to social service, cultural values and public awareness.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said that Shrimad Bhagwat Katha is not just a religious event, but a way to connect humanity with spiritual awareness, moral values and the true purpose of life.
He described the community of saints as the bearer of Indian culture and national consciousness, adding that saints and scholars have historically guided the community and contributed greatly to nation building.
The Prime Minister said that the country is witnessing a new phase of cultural renaissance under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He pointed to projects like Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Mahakal Lok and redevelopment of Kedarnath Dham as initiatives that enhance India’s spiritual heritage.
He said that the state government is constantly working to make Uttarakhand the spiritual capital of the world.
Highlighting the steps taken by the government, the Prime Minister said that stringent anti-conversion laws, uniform civil code and land laws have been implemented to protect the cultural identity of Uttarakhand and Sanatan values.
He also said that the government has set up a Center for Hindu Studies at Doon University to connect the younger generation with Indian culture and traditions, while Prashya Shudh Sansthan is being established in Haridwar.
Former Prime Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Assembly President Smt Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, Cabinet Minister Shri Satpal Maharaj, Shri Pradeep Patra and Saints were present on the occasion.
