The last rites of 32-year-old former model-actress Twisha Sharma will be performed at 5 pm on Sunday at Bhadpada Ghat in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, after the second autopsy conducted by a four-member AIIMS Delhi team in Bhopal.

The victim’s family members said that her mother-in-law, Gribala Singh, and her husband, Samarth Singh, were not allowed to attend the cremation ceremony.
On May 12, the actress was found dead at her marital home in Katara Hills area of Bhopal. Her family accused Giripala Singh and Samarth Singh of harassing her over dowry.
They approached the Madhya Pradesh High Court in Jabalpur, seeking a second autopsy, citing flaws in the investigation and the first report.
As directed by the court, the procedure is being carried out under security guard at AIIMS Bhopal.
Samarth Singh was arrested in Jabalpur on Friday, and police interrogation continued after the local court ordered him to be detained for seven days.
During interrogation, Samarth Singh claimed that their relationship soured after Twisha’s pregnancy was confirmed on April 17, saying her behavior completely changed.
“Samarth Singh claims his innocence and said that his relationship with Twisha was normal. Twisha’s pregnancy was confirmed on April 17, 2026, after which Twisha said that she did not want a home life as she had certain aspirations from her life. On returning from the hospital, Twisha expressed her desire to go to her home in Delhi. That very evening, she took a flight to Delhi and later reached her home,” said an investigating officer, who was not authorized to speak to the media. In Noida.”
Twisha’s mother and brother came to Bhopal with her on April 23.
Samarth Singh also revealed that the couple had planned a trip to Bengaluru on April 24, but Twisha refused and chose Ajmer instead, sparking a conflict.
“The two families intervened for reconciliation and the couple returned to Bhopal on April 30. Later, they quarreled after Samarth Singh learned that Twisha spent only one day in Ajmer and most of her time in Delhi. He said they quarreled over her remark that she belonged to the occult world and never wanted a confined domestic life,” the officer added.
According to Samarth’s statement on May 12, Twisha visited a beauty salon, returned at 6 pm, went for a walk with him, and had dinner together.
He claimed she went downstairs to talk on the phone while he slept. His mother later alerted him that Twisha was not answering calls.

He claimed that his mother found Twisha dead on the roof after asking her to check there. “Samarth said he rushed… and tried to perform CPR before two of her cousins living in the neighborhood helped her take her to AIIMS, where doctors declared her brought dead,” the officer said.
Twisha’s father, Navnidhi Sharma, rejected Samarth Singh’s account and said, “When Twisha was talking on the phone, Samarth shouted from behind and cut off the phone so there was no point in him being asleep in his room. He shared a fabricated story to influence the investigation. We want the CBI [Central Bureau of Investigation] To take up the case as quickly as possible.”
The Supreme Court took suo motu note. A special bench led by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and comprising Justices Joymalia Bagchi and Justice Vipul M Pancholi will hear the matter on Monday, May 25.
The Supreme Court has titled “Alleged Institutional Bias and Procedural Irregularities in the Unnatural Death of a Young Woman in the Matrimonial Home”, raising questions about the role of the police and local administration.
The Madhya Pradesh High Court, Jabalpur, will also hear Giribala Singh’s interim bail petition on Monday.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against Samarth Singh and Giripala Singh under Sections 80 and 85 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act and Sections 3/5 of the Dowry Harassment Act.
