The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which runs the Lord Venkateshwara temple on the Tirumala Hills in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh, has approved its annual budget for 2026-27 with an estimated revenue of Rs. $Rs 5,456.26 crore, Chairman BR Naidu said on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters after the board meeting at Annamaya Bhavan, he said TTD was expecting this $1,880 Crores hundi groups, $Rs 1,205 crore of interest on bank deposits, $650 crores from prasadam sales, $310 crores from Darshan ticket sales, $135 crore from service ticket sales and $Rs 175 crore from hair dye sales.
The main spending heads include: $Rs 1,859 crore for salaries and allowances of employees, $974 Crores for purchase of raw materials, $700 Crores for Fixed Deposits and $Rs 475 crore for engineering works.
Naidu said that the council decided on the allocation $Rs 118.89 crore for development of educational institutions run by TTD. These proposals include creating digital classrooms, constructing additional residential buildings, upgrading kitchens and enhancing infrastructure
The TTD Board has decided to introduce a new scheme called – “Srivari Mudupu Patram Scheme” on a pilot basis to facilitate devotees taking vows. Under the scheme, devotees can make payments via UPI at designated counters and get a ‘Mudupu’ (offer) receipt, which can be dropped in hundi currency, instead of cash and coins. “This initiative aims to reduce the need to carry cash and coins,” Naidu said.
TTD has also given approval to build an additional complex for Anna Prasadam and a modern kitchen in Tirumala, with advanced technology.
Donate $“An amount of Rs 100-120 crore has been proposed by Reliance Industries Limited for the project,” the Chairman said.
The TTD Board approved amendments to the SRIVANI Trust guidelines, relaxing some rules to accommodate the increasing construction costs of temple structures like prakarams and Rajagopurams, the Chairman said.
He added that plans are also afoot to build temples in Coimbatore, Guwahati, Belagavi and Patna.
The board has decided to develop a dry island to install a 108 feet tall Jambavantha statue at Vontimitta Sri Kodandarama Swamy temple in Kadapa district at a cost $20.17 Crores.
Another important decision approved by the TTD Trust Board was to start Aksharabhyasam (Start Learning) program titled Akshara Govindam at Sri Vakulamatha Temple to promote literacy and traditional cultural practices.
In view of the increasing influx of pilgrims, the Trust Board approved several security improvements, including deployment of 356 security personnel in Tirupati and 371 in Tirumala through the Army Social Welfare Organisation; Installation of x-ray baggage scanners and door frame metal detectors in Albury at a cost $8 crore and setting up a command and control center at Tirupati with an outlay of Rs 8 crore $Rs 10.75 lakh crore for monitoring security across TTD temples, guest houses, educational institutions and hospitals across the country
Naidu also warned that strict legal action will be taken against individuals who spread false or misleading content about Tirumala on social media or make indecent videos that hurt the sentiments of devotees.
