NEW DELHI: The youth wing of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday staged a protest outside Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s residence in Delhi, hours after members of the rival camp tricked their way to the Bharat Mandapam and attempted to disrupt the government’s ambitious AI summit.The incident opened a new front of contention between political enemies, with the Bharatiya Janata Party accusing the Congress of defaming the nation.

The demonstration came after members of the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) staged a protest at the Al Impact India Summit venue in Bharat Mandapam by removing their T-shirts bearing slogans saying ‘Compromising Prime Minister’.The Indian Youth Congress said in a statement that its workers were protesting against the “compromising prime minister who traded on the country’s identity at the AL summit.”
“The workers of the Indian Youth Congress have raised their voices and protested against the compromising Prime Minister who traded on the country’s identity at the AI summit,” the organization said in an official circular.“Instead of leveraging Indian talent and data, the AI Summit is a disorganized PR spectacle – Indian data for sale, Chinese products showcased,” she added.“The truth cannot be hidden behind the glittering stage of the AI Summit.
“When corporate interests are placed above the well-being of the nation and there is apparent softness in foreign policy, protest becomes a duty,” the organization said in a separate post.Meanwhile, Delhi Police arrested four IYC workers during a protest at the convention center in the national capital.Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva also announced a protest outside the Congress headquarters on Saturday to condemn the “rioting” by Youth Congress workers at the “AI Impact Summit”.Sachdeva said that he will lead the protest march from Man Singh Road roundabout to the Congress office on 24 Akbar Road to expose the negative mentality of the Congress and its attempt to distort the country.The Delhi BJP chief said the 10 people arrested by police for protesting “without shirts” at the summit venue on Friday were not Congress workers but hired goons.“At a time when India’s youth are showcasing their innovations at the AI Summit and saluting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, these individuals have created a disruption,” Sachdeva said.“If they believe that such actions will harm the nation’s image, they should dispel this misconception. These people claim to be workers of the Congress party led by Rahul Gandhi, who travels abroad and speaks in a way that harms India’s image,” he added.
