Traffic will remain restricted on major stretches in central Delhi in view of Navratri celebrations at the Jandewalan temple from March 23-27, police said on Monday.

According to an advisory issued by the Delhi Traffic Police, movement of all heavy vehicles, including buses and commercial vehicles, will not be allowed on Desh Bandhu Gupta (DBG) Road between Kalka Das Chowk and Jhandewalan roundabout from 12 noon to 10 pm during this period.

“Rani Jhansi Road and DBG Road stretch between Kalka Das Chowk and Roundabout (R/A) Jandewalan are likely to witness heavy traffic congestion,” the warning read.

Vehicles coming from Ajmeri Gate or Rani Jhansi Road have been advised to take Panchkuiyan Road via R/A Bagga and Faiz Road to reach Kalka Das Chowk. Likewise, traffic from Kalka Das Chowk will have to use Faiz Road via R/A Bagga and Panchkuiyan Road to proceed.

Commuters have been advised to avoid DBG Road and Rani Jhansi Road and use alternative routes like Faiz Road, New Rohtak Road and Panchkoiyan Road.
