Live weather updates for today: Unbearable hot weather has battered parts of India, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing alerts for several cities, including Delhi, to prepare under scorching heatwave conditions that have sent temperatures soaring. While Delhi reported its first heatstroke patients on Thursday amid orange alert for heatwave conditions, a red IMD alert has been issued for eastern Uttar Pradesh, eastern Madhya Pradesh and certain parts of Vidarbha for the next three days, news agency ANI quoted IMD scientist Naresh Kumar as saying.

Today’s weather live: Delhi’s first heatstroke patients of the season
Today’s Weather Live: Two patients in critical condition and suspected of having a stroke were admitted to Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital on Thursday amid intense heatwave conditions, officials said.
News agency PTI quoted doctors as saying that both patients were taken to the hospital in an unconscious state with extremely high body temperatures and were immediately placed on ventilator support and immersion cryotherapy.
Dr Ajay Chauhan, director, professor of medicine at the hospital, said a 24-year-old student from West Bengal was admitted to the hospital at around 1.45 am after contracting the disease while traveling on a train, while another patient, a man aged around 50, was brought in by police at around 10.45 am in an unconscious state.
