Heavy police forces have been deployed and barricades have been put up outside the residences of former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the residences of parliamentarian Abhishek Banerjee to prevent them from visiting the family of a 12-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped and murdered in Baruipur near Kolkata, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) said. In a post on X, the TMC said heavy police deployment and road marches suspiciously took place outside residences.

TMC leader Derek O’Brien posted “disturbing visuals” from the driveway outside the homes of Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee. He wondered why central forces were deployed to restrict their freedom of movement and confine them to their homes. “The road march is happening now. Lockdown using force!” Written on X.
