A day after he led a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar over alleged irregularities in the education system, Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Debki claimed that the demonstration sent a strong message to the government, warning that the agitation would worsen if Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is not removed or steps down in the next seven days, and said the protest “does not end here”.

In a statement issued after the protest, Debke thanked the participants, called the rally a “historic” and peaceful movement, and said many of those in attendance were first-time protesters who joined to express their frustration with the education system.

“But this does not end here. Dharmendra Pradhan has wronged an entire generation. If he is not sacked or does not step down in the next seven days, we will have to continue our protest on the ground. I will address you all on Instagram live later today,” Dipki said. “Follow us.”
CJP protest to go nationwide?
Hours after shouting slogans demanding punishment for the Delhi summer on Saturday, the protest was called off during the latter half of the day, only for the organizers to give the government a one-week ultimatum to either sack Dharmendra Pradhan or tender his voluntary resignation or the protest would spread across the country.

“We are giving seven days to the government. Either Dharmendra Pradhan must resign respectfully or Prime Minister Narendra Modi must sack him. If his resignation does not come within seven days, this movement will spread across the country,” CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said.
“It is time to reset our education system and we are starting to reset it today,” he added.

BJP chief digs ‘dummies’.
“Some people sitting outside think that they will dictate direction to the youth of India,” BJP president Nitin Nabin said on Saturday, hours after a large crowd gathered at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar to protest recent exam lapses under the banner of the Cockroach Janta Party.
The BJP president said that while the youth “want to work towards building the nation and securing their future”, some people “have described the youth of this country as anti-establishment”.

CJP: Formed as a result of statements by CJI Kant
The CJP started as an online campaign as a result of anger against the statements of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant. Within a few weeks, the group had amassed more than 22 million followers on Instagram.
The group has now warned of larger protests if no action is taken within seven days.
“This is the beginning of the movement. If no action is taken within seven days, this movement will spread throughout the country,” the statement read.
