Amid renewed reports of a power tussle in Karnataka, senior Congress leaders have rejected any talk of changing the state’s chief minister.

Speaking to reporters outside Indira Bhawan, party general secretary KC Venugopal said there was no truth to speculation of a change in the Communist Party.
“Whatever speculation you people are making, it is just speculation. It is not reality at all,” Venugopal said.
The Congress leader added that the talks with the top leadership on Tuesday focused on the upcoming elections to Rajya Sabha and Karnataka Assembly seats.
“Today we discussed Rajya Sabha seats and Karnataka Assembly seats. The candidates for Rajya Sabha and Karnataka Assembly seats will be announced along with other seats like Chhattisgarh, like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, such states. That’s all,” he said.
Uproar over change of leadership in Karnataka strikes again
The buzz over a change in leadership in Karnataka has resurfaced after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy DK Shivakumar arrived in Delhi to meet the Congress leadership.
Since the Congress party came to power in Karnataka with a huge majority in 2023, reports of a split or demands for a change in leadership within the party have emerged time and again, with many party legislators favoring Shivakumar for the top job.
However, the latest buzz came after it was reported that the southern state may see a Bihar-like turnaround, suggesting that Siddaramaiah may contest the Rajya Sabha elections.
Despite the uproar, the party officially confirmed that the meeting was routine in the backdrop of the upcoming Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council elections. The same was confirmed by KC Venugopal on Tuesday.
