Ahead of its protest call on June 6, the Sarsour Janta Party announced three spokespersons. Sourav Das, Vijita Dahiya and Ashutosh Ranka introduced the movement online and stated that they would speak on behalf of the movement before the public and media.

“Investigative journalist Sourav Das will take on the role of chief spokesperson. Political researcher, author and filmmaker Vigeeta Dahiya, and IIT Kanpur and global management consulting firm McKinsey alumnus Ashutosh Ranka will also serve as spokespersons alongside Das,” a statement from the satirical institution said.

Who are the new spokespersons?

Sourav Das is an investigative journalist. Das will serve as the official spokesperson for the outfit.

“He has spent several years investigating, analyzing and reporting on crucial legal, judicial and social issues,” the CJP said. The group also added that Das was among the people who led the anti-pollution protests in November 2025 at India Gate.

“There comes a moment when the nation’s youth realize that they are angry because they were promised a future, and then they are mocked, moralized and treated as consumers for asking where that future is going,” Das said on joining the team. “That moment has arrived. It is time to change that.”

Vegeta Dahiya is a writer, content creator, and filmmaker. Dahiya has also worked in research and content for several YouTube creators like Dhruv Rathee.

A DTU alumnus, Dahiya is also the author of the books ‘Power of Universe’ and ‘To hell with that job’, and has written and directed the Haryanvi films ‘Darren’ and ‘Operi Pray’.

The latest person to join the communications team is Ashutosh Ranka. A graduate of IIT Kanpur and the London School of Economics, Ranka has worked as a consultant for McKinsey & Company in London.

Ranka returned to India in 2025 and has since led several public movements in Jaipur focused on environmental, educational, and youth issues, such as Dole Ka Bad, the Amaira suicide case, and the NEET paper leak.

After the CJP’s announcement, Ranka confirmed her joining and praised the slogan ‘Inquilaab zindabaad’.

CJP holds a press conference

Hours after announcing the new spokespersons, the CJP said it would host a press conference on Wednesday in Delhi. The conference will focus on founder Abhijit Debaki’s call for protest on June 6 against the recent irregularities and paper leaks in CBSE, NEET and CUET exams.

“The conference will be addressed by spokespersons Sourav Das, Vijita Dahiya and Ashutosh Ranka, who will share details regarding the proposed protest scheduled for June 6,” the group said in a statement.

The CJP press conference also comes after climate activist Sonam Wangchuk joined the protest call on Tuesday.

“I will join CJP members in Delhi on June 6 if nothing changes by June 5. Any self-respecting minister should resign if things get worse… let alone impact the lives of millions of young people and indeed the future of India,” Wangchuk said in a social media post.
