“All credit goes to President Trump and Prime Minister Modi. Since I arrived in India about a month ago, I’ve said that the two leaders have a great personal relationship and that’s something that drove this deal forward,” Gore told CNN News 18.
“I’m thrilled about it India is getting these 18 percent (duty), which is a huge drop from the previous numbers. And so when I say that the best is yet to come since I arrived,” Gore said.
Asked if the additional 25 percent tariff on India had been removed, Gore said, “That’s correct. As you wrote in Truth of the President, part of the deal is that all nations of the world stop buying oil from Russia to bring peace. I know the prime minister cares deeply about bringing peace to that conflict, as does President Trump. So the final number would be 8 percent.”
