“Andhra Pradesh Director of Census and Citizen Registration Operations J Nivas informed Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu that the process of house list and house enumeration as part of Census 2027 will begin from May 1,” a press release issued on Tuesday said.
Informing the Prime Minister that the census will be conducted in two phases, Nivas said the first phase will include the list of houses and the house census, which will continue until May 30.
The Home List and Home Census will document the condition of the homes, available amenities, and asset details.
Nivas said that from April 16 to 30, the scope of self-censure will be expanded to include people. Within the framework of the second phase, starting from February 2027, the census of people will begin.
Socio-economic conditions, cultural status, migrations and details of children will be recorded as part of the census, which will be a fully digital exercise for the first time, Nivas said.
He said that the 16th census will be documented through mobile applications and web portals.
Moreover, a public portal has also been created for people to self-enumerate the census, Nivas said, adding that the Center has introduced a house list application in 16 languages.
