The photo showing the recently installed bullet train at Rail Bhawan caught the attention of many visitors who thought it was the first look of the country’s first high-speed train, which is expected to be launched in August 2027.

Several media outlets reported that the photo is the first look at the proposed bullet train.

However, railway officials contradicted this claim and said that this was not the real picture of the train.

A senior official said, “It is a representative image and not the final one. We may remove it if it raises controversy.”

“Since the bullet train is the most ambitious and dream project in the country, it has generated a lot of buzz,” he added.

Launched in 2016, the 508 km Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor is under construction to run bullet trains at a speed of 320 km per hour, the first phase of which is expected to start in August 2027.

The country’s first bullet is under manufacturing at Bengaluru-based BEML and is expected to be ready by 2027.
