Pointing out that technology is the only effective solution to wastage of judicial time, he said that the country’s judiciary is committed to ensuring optimal use of technological advancement and artificial intelligence for the benefit of the common man.

The CJI was speaking at a program organized by the Madhya Pradesh High Court on the topic “Fragmentation to Fusion, Empowering Justice through Unified Digital Platform Integration”. He also launched the newly developed digital platforms for the Supreme Court of the Member of Parliament.

“The Indian judiciary is committed to ensuring optimum use not only of the technological advancement that has taken place and which has been an integral part of our system since 1990, but also of the latest AI designs and how we can use them for the benefit of the common man,” he said.

The International Judicial Committee added, “We must think about deepening technology and the judicial structure based on artificial intelligence. Technology is the only effective solution to wasting judicial time.”

He stressed the need to embrace technological progress in the judiciary to speed up the justice delivery system.

Lauding the Madhya Pradesh HC for developing these platforms, the CJI said that as Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal had stated, there was a need to roll out these technological advances at a pan-India level.

He added that a Supreme Court committee has been formed on how to use artificial intelligence for the benefit of the judicial system, especially in quickly adjudicating cases.

Minister Meghwal, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Deputy Chief Justice Sanjeev Sabharwal also spoke on the occasion.
