The changing political map of India

The BJP ended 2021 with a chief minister in 12 states or union territories and an alliance partner in power in six more. However, a large proportion of states were governed by parties other than the BJP or NDA at that time. In the five years that followed, the party’s map expanded rapidly across India, expanding across the Indian belt and making profound inroads into the east.
