During a review meeting at the Secretariat here, the Prime Minister directed all revenue-generating departments to boost collections and adopt technology-driven systems to enhance revenue.

“The government has set a target for $“Rs 1.27 lakh crore from special revenue for 2026-27, the Prime Minister directed all revenue generating departments to intensify efforts to improve collections and plug leakages,” an official statement said late on Thursday.

Officials informed Naidu that the state’s revenues increased by $1.6 billion $1,04,345 crore in 2024-25 to $1,10,643 crore in 2025-26, registering a growth of around six per cent.

Key contributions included $Rs 33,679 crore from GST, $10,300 crore from the Department of Mines and $Rs 11,047 crore from the Stamps and Registration Department,” the statement said.

Stating that increased investments in the state should proportionately boost tax revenues, Naidu pointed out that Andhra Pradesh has already registered revenue growth of nearly 38 per cent during the first 42 days of the current financial year.

Calling the districts “growth centres”, the Chief Minister stressed that economic expansion at the district level would accelerate the state’s overall revenue growth and help Andhra Pradesh achieve its fiscal targets faster.

He directed the departments to improve the speed of doing business, strengthen monitoring systems, and eliminate tax evasion and violations through innovative mechanisms and technology.

The Prime Minister also stressed that resolving land disputes could significantly improve registration revenues.

Emphasizing the use of AI, Naidu instructed officials to implement AI-based GST audit systems, enhance analytics and use advanced technologies to identify revenue leakage and improve compliance without harassing taxpayers.

He also directed officials to create awareness among taxpayers about the benefits of tax payments and ensure transparency in collections.

Moreover, Naidu stressed the need for value addition in exports of metals and red sanders to improve revenues and called for completion of vehicle registration within 24 hours.

The Prime Minister also instructed officials to rationalize municipal taxes and use GIS maps, drone surveys and satellite images to identify unauthorized constructions and improve tax assessments.
