A 19-year-old student from Hisar district died by suicide on Sunday morning, hours before she was scheduled to appear for her exam.

The deceased was a resident of Dani Khan Bahadur village in Barwala district.
According to her family members, she allegedly ingested pesticide into her home on Sunday morning, just hours before she was scheduled to appear for a checkup at around 11 a.m.
The deceased was preparing for the NEET exam while living in Sikar, Rajasthan. This was her third attempt at the medical entrance exam. She was unable to qualify in her first attempt, while her second attempt was canceled after a paper leak controversy.

On Sunday morning, around 10 a.m., the 19-year-old suddenly started vomiting. Her mother, who was with her at home, immediately took her to a local doctor in the village. The doctor gave her an injection, but her condition did not improve.
When family members questioned her, she revealed that she had consumed pesticide kept in the house. She was immediately transferred to a private hospital in Hisar in critical condition. But doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
Her father, a Hafiz field officer in Oklana, said she appeared normal on Sunday morning. According to him, she studied all night and told the family members that she would leave for the examination center at 11 am. He had already left for work by then.

“She gave no indication that she would take such a step. She seemed completely normal,” he said.
When contacted, Hisar Superintendent of Police Siddhant Jain said, “Yes, there are reports that a 19-year-old NEET student died due to suicide. However, it cannot be confirmed that her death was due to examination-related stress.”
He added that an autopsy had been conducted and police investigations were ongoing.
Meanwhile, village sarpanch Vijay Singh also said that it could not be ascertained whether the death was related to the screening.
