Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday announced the setting up of a dedicated zone for Global Capability Centers (GCCs) for life sciences companies in the upcoming futuristic city of Bharat on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

In his interaction with senior executives and representatives of several global life sciences companies on the sidelines of the BioAsia Summit 2026 held at the Hitex Convention Center in Hyderabad, the Prime Minister said the zone designated for the GCC countries will specifically focus on facilitating innovation hubs for global life sciences companies.
Revanth Reddy emphasized that the state government is committed to providing all necessary support to companies looking to invest in Hyderabad. He pointed out that many leading companies in the field of life sciences have already established their Gulf centers in Hyderabad.
An official statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office stated that Opella Healthcare, a global consumer healthcare company with global headquarters in France, is expanding its operations in the GCC in a 42,000 square foot facility, creating up to 500 job opportunities over the next year.
Earlier, inaugurating BioAsia-2026, the Prime Minister said that the summit stands as a testament to Hyderabad’s success as a life sciences hub. He expressed confidence that the BioAsia conference held in Hyderabad would soon be recognized on the lines of the World Economic Forum organized in Davos.
Revanth Reddy highlighted Telangana’s strengths that will support its rise from being a global vaccine capital to becoming a global life sciences capital. He mentioned the recent launch of Telangana’s Next Generation Life Sciences Policy in Davos, expansion of Genome Valley, launch of 1Bio or world-class research and innovation, acceleration of Green Pharma City, and opening of various global capacity centers in Hyderabad.
BioAsia 2026 saw record participation with over 4,000 delegates representing 500 major companies in the life sciences ecosystem from around the world.
