Shiv Sena-UBT crisis LIVE: A major meeting of the Shiv Sena (UBT) is scheduled to be held in New Delhi today.

Shiv Sena-UBT crisis live: Speculation about a possible split within the Shiv Sena (UBT) intensified after the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena claimed that six of the nine Lok Sabha MPs from the Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction had signed a letter seeking to form a separate group and eventually join the Shiv Sena.

The development comes about a week after 20 rebel Trinamool Congress MPs proposed merging with the relatively little-known Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI) and lending support to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), strengthening the ruling alliance in the Lok Sabha.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh minister and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar, along with UP deputy chief minister and BJP leader Keshav Prasad Maurya, claimed possible disintegration within the Samajwadi Party. However, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav rejected such allegations on Wednesday, saying the party remains united.

Split in Shiv Sena (UBT) imminent?

Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut on Tuesday alleged that party MPs in Maharashtra were promised as much as… $15 crore advance to cross over to Eknath Shinde faction. He said that anyone who wants to resign must resign first and then return to the people to obtain a new term.

“I received a call from an important person who told me every representative was on offer $50 crores to leave the party. $Rs 15 crore was given as advance. I’ve been told that representatives are not willing to sit on charter planes until they get the advance.

Speculations rose after Uddhav Thackeray recently held a meeting at his residence in Mumbai. Reports indicated that only four of the nine Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs were present. But the party later said that all representatives were present.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders assured that all party MPs continue to stand by Uddhav Thackeray.

The allegations surfaced even as a number of legislators from the Shiv Sena (UBT) camp met senior leaders from the Shiv Sena and the BJP.

Union Minister Pratap Jadhav of the Shiv Sena said it is only a matter of time before Shiv Sena MPs change their stance.

Following Jadhav’s statement, Uddhav Thackeray asked all nine Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs to be in Mumbai on Sunday. But party MP Sanjay Raut described the gathering as a “routine” meeting.

The BJP claims that the Samajwadi Party has split forward

UP minister and SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar claimed that a “major political realignment” was taking place within the Samajwadi Party. He also said that “the entire SP is ready to join the BJP.”

Uttar Pradesh MP CM Keshav Prasad Maurya also made a similar claim, saying that 25-26 MPs from the Samajwadi Party are ready to switch camps. The party currently has 37 MPs from UP.

Rejecting the allegations, Akhilesh Yadav said the Samajwadi Party remained united and accused the BJP of having a record of causing divisions through pressure and inducements.

“The Socialist Party remains united. It has faced many ups and downs in its journey. It is a strong party, and it will remain so,” he said.

Live updates on mutiny crisis: ‘Go to homes of troublesome MPs and apologise’, UP minister tells Akhilesh

Live updates on insurgency crisis: Uttar Pradesh minister and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar on Thursday claimed that the Samajwadi Party (SP) will “definitely happen” and advised party chief Akhilesh Yadav to launch a ‘Save our MPs’ campaign.

He claimed that a rebel faction of dissident MPs from the party would soon emerge under the leadership of the Ballia leader.

In a post on website

“Why won’t he do that? The way the SP office yesterday insulted Brahmins under the guise of the Congress has deeply hurt the ‘red’ in ‘Rebel Ballia’. The plan was already in place, but yesterday’s incident added fat to the fire. A split will definitely happen,” he added.
