She alleged in the complaint that during her marriage to Vinayak’s son, Jitesh, also referred to as Jitesh, several people, including two self-proclaimed gods, performed various indecent acts on her. Girija stated in her complaint that her marriage with Jitesh was arranged in December 2017 and that there were no physical relations between them till 2018, alleging that she was taken to witchcraft practitioners to solve marital issues.

“The victim alleged that she was constantly abused and beaten throughout her trips to countries like Australia, New Zealand, Kenya and Thailand when she suspected there was no physical relationship. Instead, she was told that an ‘external obstacle’ was blocking their way,” the official said, citing Girija’s complaint.

Girija said she was taken to black magic practitioners who “performed rituals using a rooster” and “made dolls of flour and pierced them with pins.” She said she was forced to drink cow urine and was given “turmeric powder and agarbatti powder to eat.” She added: “My used clothes were handed over to black magic practitioners and my hair was pulled out,” stressing that she “feels shocked” by such actions.

The victim claims medical negligence, and says specialists suggested home insemination

In her complaint, Girija alleged that her mother-in-law forced her to take pills to stop menstruation, which adversely affected her medical health.

“The victim also alleged that she was subjected to medical negligence when the specialists refused her proper treatment and instead suggested inoculation at home,” the official said, citing Girija’s complaint. Girija further said that Vinayat Raut was staying in an apartment with his wife and daughter, while she was staying in an apartment with her husband.

The complainant’s mother also alleged that Girija “was taken to many papas and was subjected to ill-treatment”, adding that her in-laws wanted to “hide their son’s shortcomings and relied on the rituals prescribed by these religious figures…”. “When we found out what was happening, we told them it was wrong and suggested appropriate medical treatment… but Jitesh Raut himself was not willing to do that…,” the mother told ANI.

Former Sena UBT MP denies the allegations, says the victim demanded a 3-bedroom apartment, $2 lakh per month

Reacting to the allegations, Vinayak Raut denied Girija’s allegations and said that divorce proceedings are already underway between his son Jitesh and Girija. Vinayak alleged that during negotiations between the lawyers of the two parties, Girija demanded a three-bedroom apartment with a balcony, an automatic car and maintenance. $2 lakh per month and $Rs 5 crore as settlement amount.

“We did not accept any of the demands,” Vinayak said, adding that she had sent them a new notice accusing them of harassment. In the notice, she allegedly asked for monthly alimony $5 lakh $10 Crores and also $2 crore for the emotional trauma she had to face. Vinayak refuted the accusations and said that the charges were false and aimed to put pressure on his family and himself.

He added: “The case will be heard on July 23 and we will get justice. This is a false case. Why did I wait four years to complain? My daughter-in-law said that all these incidents occurred between 2018 and 2022, and her parents accompanied her to black magic practitioners.”

The FIR has been registered under the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and Other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices Act, Black Magic Act and BNS Act. Vinayak Raut, his son Jitesh Raut, his mother-in-law Shyamal Raut, Vinayak Raut’s brother Appa, two black magic practitioners Feroz Baba and Kazi Baba, and a certain person Harishchandra Ghadi, have been named in the FIR. Thane police arrested Feroz Baba in connection with the case.
