The mother of murder accused Siya Goyal has claimed that her daughter was reluctant to go on the Lohagad Fort trek with her fiancé Ketan Vishal Agarwal a day before his alleged murder, saying their conversation about the plan was part of a chat date.

Pooja Goyal, Sia’s mother, said that the night before the accident, Sia and Ketan had a video call during which they discussed the trip. She said that when Ketan’s mother joined the call, Sia told her she did not want to go on the trip, but Ketan’s mother encouraged her to accompany him.

“This conversation is there in their conversations. Siya said she didn’t want to go, but Ketan was trying to convince her otherwise,” Pooja said.

Ketan was allegedly killed during the journey to Lohagad Fort, with police investigating the role of Siya and her alleged accomplice Chetan Chaudhary in the crime.

“Siya never expressed his unhappiness.”

Pooja said that the family was preparing for Sia and Ketan’s marriage and denied that her daughter had expressed her dissatisfaction with the relationship.

“The family had high hopes for Sia and Ketan’s marriage. There was a lot of affection. Ketan’s family also treated Sia with love and respect. All the occasions were going well. They had planned many programs to celebrate her birthday,” she said.

She added that if there had been any disagreements between the couple, they would have come to the family’s notice.

“If we feel that Sia is facing any problem or is unable to talk to Ketan, they will discuss the matter with us. Sia has never expressed any dissatisfaction with this marriage,” she said.

Pooja also claimed that the family was not aware of any connection between Sia and Chetan.

“We didn’t know anything about Chetan. Since the engagement, she has only spoken to Ketan,” she said.

While she insisted that she did not believe her daughter was involved in the crime, Pooja said anyone found guilty should face strict punishment, including Sia.

“If anyone is wrong in this, they should be given the harshest punishment. Even if that includes my daughter. If my daughter is proven guilty, she should be thrown from the same place where Ketan was thrown,” she said.

Pooja also spoke about the scale of the wedding preparations, saying that the families had planned an elaborate ceremony in Udaipur.

“For the wedding, we booked Ananta Resort in Udaipur. The cost was close $3 crore, and we were ready to spend $“Rs 5 crore for the wedding,” she said.

She confirmed that she would accept the outcome of the investigation.

“I don’t think she agreed to commit the crime, but if the investigation shows she is guilty, she should get the maximum punishment,” Pooja said.
