Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Sunday assured his party cadre that the Secular Progressive Alliance, led by DMK, will emerge victorious in the April 23 elections and form the government for the second time in a row.

In a message to KDP cadres on Sunday, Stalin said: “I say with firm confidence: We will win these elections and form the government again. The people have already decided that. The joy on the faces of women and popular support, including those from minority communities, will form the basis for the KDP’s victory.”
“With just 10 days to go for the 2026 Assembly elections, wherever I go, I see the resurgence of the DMK among the people,” the DMK chief continued.
Earlier in the day, Stalin conducted a house-to-house campaign in Paramakudi, 75 km from Chennai, and briefly interacted with residents.
From these interactions, Stalin said it was clear that people were hoping that the schemes announced by his party under the Dravidian model regime would continue under Dravidian Model 2.0 rule.
Stalin noted that party supporters visited all 75,000 booths across Tamil Nadu. He urged the cadres to maintain close relations with the people, intensify field work during the next ten days, and work as one among them.
He highlighted that despite their age, Dravidar Kazhagam chief K. Veeramani, 92, former home minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram, and Marumalarshi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) leader Vaiko – all over 80 – have been fighting to re-establish the Dravidian model of governance in Tamil Nadu.
Stalin also pointed out that party general secretary Duraimurugan (Katpadi), 87, and the youngest candidate, 28-year-old Dr Kokilamani from Avanashi in Coimbatore, were toiling hard for the party’s victory.
Stalin stressed that every vote counts and urged cadres to adopt the slogan “My booth is a winner’s booth” to secure victories for the SWP in every constituency. “That’s what I expect from you,” he added.
Meanwhile, in a brief interaction with the media, Stalin lashed out at AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, saying he was frustrated with the defeat.
Responding to a question about Palaniswami attacking him during election campaigns, Stalin said: “He feels the frustration of defeat. He speaks out of frustration.”
“Be it in Chennai or elsewhere, I used to go for a walk. Since it is election time, people come to meet me in person,” Stalin said while taking his morning walk.
When asked about his repeated comments that this election is a battle between Tamil Nadu and Delhi, he said: “BJP is wearing the mask of AIADMK, entering Tamil Nadu. This is the truth.”
For the 2026 Assembly elections, the AIADMK has formed an alliance with the Palaniswami-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Under the alliance, the BJP is contesting 27 seats in Tamil Nadu.
Regarding the Election Commission’s transfer of senior government officials, Stalin said that he issued a statement condemning this and a complaint was submitted to the Election Commission.
Responding to a question about the recent online leak of actor-politician Vijay’s political thriller ‘Janna Nayagan’, he said, “I have no necessity to give an answer about that.”
