The India-Pakistan conflict escalated in May last year when New Delhi carried out Operation Sindoor in response to the Pehalgam terror attack, which targeted terrorists deep inside Pakistani territory. Trump has repeatedly claimed to have ended the three-day conflict, though India has repeatedly denied the claim.

“I have ended 8 wars, including India and Pakistan, so much so that the Prime Minister of Pakistan told me I saved the lives of 30 to 50 million people,” Trump said at the White House press conference.
