Investigating agencies are probing a possible NEET-2025 paper leak involving family members of BJP worker Dinesh Bewal after their long alleged links with Haryana-based paper supplier Yash Yadav and admission of several family members into government medical colleges despite average academic records raised suspicions.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday arrested Dinesh Bewal, his brother Mangilal and Mangilal’s son Vikas in connection with the alleged NEET-2026 paper leak case. On Thursday, the CBI informed a Delhi court, “Vikas Bewal, son of Mangilal, revealed that during NEET training in Sikar, Rajasthan, he was in touch with Yash Yadav who allegedly claimed that he could arrange the leaked NEET (UG) 2026 question paper in exchange for money.”
According to the Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG) and the CBI investigation, Mangilal allegedly received the leaked question paper from Yash Yadav via Telegram on April 29.
Investigators claimed the deal was set at $10 lakh if 150 questions match the original paper.
The investigation found that Mangilal provided printouts of the leaked paper to his son Aman Bewal, Dinesh’s son Rishi, and their elder brother Ghanshyam Gunjan’s niece, who all appeared for examination on May 3.
Dinesh and Mangilal, residents of Jamua Ramgarh in Jaipur district, were earlier involved in money lending and real estate business. About five years ago, the family moved to Sikar with seven children to prepare them for the NEET exams.
Among the children is Dinesh’s son Rishi. Ghanshyam Bewal’s late daughters Palak, Sania and Gunjal; Mangilal’s sons Vikas and Aman and daughter Pragati.

Admission documents from the CLC Training Institute in Sikar, obtained by HT, showed that the children had been studying there since 2024 before they later moved to the newly established Deep Career Point Academy in 2025.
Several posters released by Deep Career Point after NEET-2025 featured Palak, Sania and Gunjal as students with the highest marks.
“It is possible that they met Yash Yadav at CLC only who had come to prepare for NEET. However, the truth is yet to be ascertained. They also met the chemistry teacher at CLC, Satyanarayan Chaudhary (who later founded Deep Career Point), who has now also been detained by the CBI,” a Rajasthan SOG official said on condition of anonymity.
The CBI also informed the court that Mangilal had shared the leaked paper with Satyanarayan. She further alleged that Yash Yadav asked Vikas to line up additional candidates in exchange for free access to the leaked question paper. According to investigators, Vikas allegedly contacted several candidates and shared their details with Yash Yadav via WhatsApp and Instagram.
“Soon after the leak was exposed, the CBI arrested Dinesh, Mangilal and Vikas based on compelling evidence, while a search was also launched for Rishi, Aman and Gunjal. But they are still on the run. Their other children’s phones are also switched off,” a police officer said.
The CBI also searched Bewal’s residence in Jamua Ramgarh on Thursday evening. Officials said that only Dinesh’s mother and Mangilal’s wife were present in the house. Meanwhile, NCB investigators on Friday began questioning faculty members and friends of the family’s five other children, all of whom had taken admission in government medical colleges.
Investigators also said that the sudden improvement in the children’s NEET scores compared to their previous academic records became a major focus of the investigation.
Kunj accuses the BJP of protecting the paper leak mafia and demands action
Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee president Govind Singh Dotasra on Friday launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led Center and the Rajasthan government over the alleged NEET-2026 paper leak, claiming that the scandal exposed a bigger racket operating from Rajasthan and accused the authorities of protecting influential people involved in the case.
Speaking to reporters at the state Congress headquarters in Jaipur, Dotasra said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah had earlier promised to take strict action against the paper leaking mafia during the Rajasthan Assembly elections, but the NEET-2026 paper was allegedly leaked from Rajasthan itself and individuals linked to the BJP have emerged in the investigation.
He alleged that while the state education minister downplayed the incident, BJP leaders were trying to divert attention from the seriousness of the scam.
Dotasra also claimed that information that came to light during the investigation suggested that the NEET-2025 screening paper had also been leaked in Rajasthan, but no FIR was registered by the Special Operations Group (SOG) despite receiving inputs. The Congress leader alleged that the same gang was involved in leaking NEET papers for several years.
