The victim has been identified as Shubham Sen, a Class XI student and resident of Gaja Basti in Prem Nagar district. He was attacked late Tuesday night while returning home from a wedding, news agency PTI reported. According to the police, the assault took place at around 11 pm near the Chauth Mata temple within the jurisdiction of Udyog Nagar police station.

Officers said two to three youths confronted Sain and allegedly beat him with iron rods and stabbed him with a knife. The report indicated that the teenager suffered serious injuries, including deep wounds in his abdomen, and collapsed after losing a large amount of blood. He was transferred to New Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Udyog Nagar Circle Inspector Jitendra Singh said a murder case has been registered based on a complaint filed by the victim’s family. Two suspects, Vishal and Raj Bhacha, have been named in the FIR. The report stated that both of them fled the scene after the attack and are currently on the run.

Preliminary results indicate that the crime may have resulted from a long-term competition related to content published on social media platforms. Police said Sain often created videos and uploaded them online, which is believed to have raised tensions with the accused.

Singh said that the authorities have launched a detailed investigation to determine the exact circumstances and motive behind the killing.
