“The results achieved in Assam and Puducherry also reflect people’s continued faith in development and strong governance.

“This victory is a testimony to the decisive leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @Narendramji, the strategic vision of His Majesty Shri @Amit Shah Ji, and the dedicated efforts of BJP National President Shri @Nitin Nabin Ji.

He added: “It is a win for every citizen who aspires to a stronger and more developed India.”

The numbers alone indicate the shift in Bengal’s transition from TMC to BJP. The BJP’s vote share rose to about 44.8 per cent from 38 per cent in the 2021 Assembly elections. It shows consolidation and expansion. Meanwhile, the TMC’s percentage declined to nearly 41.7 percent from 48 percent during the same elections.

The TMC has lost after 15 years in power, and these are the first elections held after the massive purge of voters under the SIR process. Meanwhile, in Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma is also leading the BJP for a third consecutive term.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also reacted to the West Bengal Assembly elections. “This historic victory of the BJP in Bengal is the result of the sacrifices, struggles and martyrdom of countless of our workers. It is a victory for the patience of those families who, despite enduring violence, have never abandoned the saffron flag,” he wrote, taking to S.

“In this arduous journey of the BJP from zero to today’s resounding majority, I bow to all those workers who laid down their lives, endured violence, suffered torture, and yet were never wavered by ideology – and to their families. The people of Bengal have paid tribute to all these martyred workers of the BJP with this resounding majority.”

“The people of Bengal have taught their infiltrators and sympathizers a lesson that parties indulging in appeasement politics will never be able to forget. With the hopes and aspirations with which Bengal has expressed confidence in Mr. Modi ji’s leadership, we will surely achieve them,” he wrote in another post.

“The BJP will work day and night to restore the lost glory of Bengal, the holy land of great personalities like Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Swami Vivekananda, Kavi Guru Tagore, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, and to realize the dream of ‘Sonar Bengal,'” he added.
