Puducherry election results will be announced today

Puducherry election results for 30 constituencies in the union territory will be announced today, May 4, 2026, to determine whether the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance will retain power or the Congress-DMK will return. The ruling camp is led by the All India Congress (NR) as part of the NDA, under the leadership of Prime Minister N. Rangasamy, along with the BJP and other allies are supporting the alliance.

Voting was held in a single phase on April 9 and included 23 Assembly constituencies in Puducherry: Manadipet, Thiruphuvanai (SC), Osudu (SC), Mangalam, Velyanur, Uzukarai, Kadirgamam, Indira Nagar, Thattanchavadi, Kamaraj Nagar, Lospet, Kalapet, Muthialpet, Raj Bhavan, Uppalam, Orliampeth, Nelithope, Mudaliarpet, Ariankuppam, Manavely, Embalam (SC), Nettapkkam (SC), and Bahour.

Polling was also held in seven assembly constituencies in other districts: North Karaikal, South Karaikal, Neeravi TR Pattinam, Thirunallar and Nedungadu in Karaikal, along with Mahe and Yanam.

The elections recorded a strong voter turnout of about 90%, with voting conducted peacefully in one stage.

In the 2021 Assembly elections, the NDA comprising AINRC, BJP and AIADMK bagged 16 seats out of 30 to form the government. The United Progressive Alliance, which included the DMK and the Congress, won eight seats.
