Modi is in Norway on a two-day visit and has received the highest award for his service in promoting Norway’s interests and international relations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday received Norway’s highest award, the Grand Cross, during his five-nation tour. Modi is in Oslo on a two-day trip and was awarded Norway’s highest honor by King Harald V. This is the thirty-second global honor for Modi.

This is Modi’s first visit to Norway, and it is also the first visit by an Indian prime minister to the country in 43 years.
“The Prime Minister dedicated the honor to the historic relations between India and Norway and described the honor as a reflection of the affection and goodwill between the peoples of India and Norway,” the Ministry of External Affairs said in a post on X.
Modi on Sunday was awarded the Royal Swedish Order of the Commander of the Polar Star Grand Cross, which is considered Sweden’s highest honor for foreign dignitaries and heads of government.
This ultimate token of appreciation is an acknowledgment of Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and deepen cooperation between India and Sweden across trade, innovation, technology and sustainability.
