Nida Khan is among the eight accused, and Nashik police said on Thursday that while seven have been arrested, Nida is “on the run”.

But hours later, the family said that Nidaa was not on the run, but rather present with her family, considering that she had nothing to do with the controversy.

Nida Khan’s father and uncle spoke to HT on Thursday.

Here are 5 confirmations made by Nida Khan’s family:

1. Nidaa Khan is pregnant: Her father said that Nida is currently in Mumbai, pregnant and expecting her first child.

2. I got married last year and work in Mumbai and not Nashik: Nida got married last year. In January this year, Khan said, she moved to Mumbai to stay with her husband and works in the Mumbai BPO office and not in Nashik.

3. Not HR but the remote caller: Contrary to reports circulating on television and social media, Khan does not work in the human resources department at BPO. Her family said she works as a telephone caller on the sales team and is not among the senior staff.

3. Viral image taken from Instagram: The family said that a picture of her bearing the title of ‘Head of Human Resources’ in the company’s Nashik unit went viral on social media and was broadcast by TV news channels. The photo was taken from her Instagram account, with the label digitally labeled.

4. A father regrets letting his daughter work in a BPO company: Her father says he was proud of his daughter for getting a job in a multinational company, but now he regrets encouraging her to work. “It would have been better if she had not worked at all. 5. Nida Khan received her MBA: Khan and her two siblings, a younger brother and an elder sister, were educated in Nashik. She has a degree in commerce and is currently pursuing an MBA through correspondence while working, her family said.
