Pratik Yadav, stepson of late Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav and husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav, died of “cardiac and respiratory collapse” caused by “massive pulmonary thromboembolism”, details of an autopsy report.

The 38-year-old died in Lucknow on Wednesday morning after his health suddenly deteriorated at his residence.
The autopsy report stated: “Cardiac and respiratory collapse due to massive pulmonary thromboembolism.” She also indicated that the entire thromboembolic material of the heart and lung was preserved in formalin for histological examination, while the viscera were preserved for chemical analysis.
The report also stated that all injuries found on the body were “antemortem,” meaning they occurred before death.
Pulmonary thromboembolism is a serious medical condition caused by blood clots that block arteries in the lungs, which can severely affect breathing and circulation.
According to Civil Hospital Director Dr G P Gupta, authorities received information about Pratik’s deteriorating condition around 5 am, following which a medical team rushed to his residence.
Gupta said: “When the doctors arrived there, his condition appeared to be critical. He was taken to the hospital, and despite all the efforts made by the medical team, his death was declared at 5.55 am.”
Hospital sources said Prateek was taken to the Civil Hospital around 5.30 am. Officials had earlier said that the exact cause of death would be determined after examining the body.
