Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Italy live: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Italy, a visit that is part of his five-nation tour and began with a warm welcome from his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni. Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Italy live: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Rome and is scheduled to meet Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during his visit to Italy.
Prime Minister Modi’s direct visit to Italy: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Rome on Tuesday on the fifth and final leg of his five-nation tour, at the invitation of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The visit comes as India and Italy continue to deepen ties under the Joint Strategic Action Plan 2025-2029, which focuses on cooperation in trade, investment, defence, clean energy, innovation, science and technology and cultural exchanges.

Bilateral trade between the two countries reached US$16.77 billion in 2025, while Italian foreign direct investment in India totaled US$3.66 billion in the period from April 2000 to September 2025.
The visit to Italy is the last stop of Prime Minister Modi’s five-nation tour, which also included the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway.
“Welcome to Rome, my friend!”
Meloni welcomed Modi upon his arrival in Rome. Sharing a photo with the Prime Minister on X, she wrote: “Welcome to Rome, my friend!” She also shared a previous photo with Modi taken at the Colosseum in Italy.
Modi previously visited Italy in June 2024 to attend the 2024 G7 summit.
Everything PM Modi did in Italy?
- Prime Minister Modi arrived in Italy on Tuesday and interacted with the Indian community in Rome, attended cultural performances, signed an autograph for a child whom he personally welcomed, besides meeting representatives of the Sanatana Dharma Samgha and viewing an Italian artist’s painting of the ghats of Varanasi.
- It also witnessed a musical performance based on Raga Hamsadhwani, where the artistes highlighted efforts to promote Indian cultural values and traditions across Europe.
Prime Minister Modi in Norway
Before arriving in Italy, Modi visited Norway as part of the fourth leg of his tour. He had previously traveled to Sweden, the Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates.
India and the Nordic countries on Tuesday established a strategic partnership for green technology and innovation to deepen cooperation in areas ranging from energy security to digital infrastructure, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and leaders of the five Nordic countries stressing the importance of relations based on trust in an era of geopolitical turmoil and uncertainty.

PM Modi’s live visit to Italy: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday received a warm welcome from the Indian community as he arrived in Rome on the fifth and final leg of his five-nation tour.
The Prime Minister interacted with members of the Indian community and witnessed cultural performances at the hotel where he resides. Prime Minister Modi also signed the autograph of the child, whom he personally received.
Among those who met the Prime Minister was Svamini Chudananda Giri, who said she would meet Prime Minister Modi for the second time after 2021. She also said that Sanatana Dharma Samgha has been recognized as an official religion in Italy by the Italian Parliament.
“I am very happy and this is the second time we have met him. We met him in 2021 and he also continued to maintain and promote our mission… Sanatana Dharma Samgha is recognized as an official religion here in Italy by the Italian Parliament,” she told ANI.
Meanwhile, a member of the Indian community expressed his happiness after meeting the Prime Minister. “We are very happy with the way he came and addressed us and we are very happy and this is the first time we got a chance to meet him. It is a very special moment for us and he conveyed the message of unity and togetherness,” he told ANI.

Prime Minister Modi’s direct visit to Italy: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday arrived in Italy, where he will meet his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni and President Sergio Mattarella, and discuss with them ways to enhance cooperation between India and Italy.
Modi, who is on a four-nation European tour, arrived here from Norway.
He was received at the airport by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani. This is the last stop on his five-country tour.
“I have landed in Rome, Italy. I will meet President Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and hold discussions with them,” Modi posted on X.
