Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Netherlands on a two-day visit. After concluding his trip to the UAE, the BJP leader arrived in Amsterdam, where he will meet his Dutch counterpart, Prime Minister Rob Jetten.

The visit to the Netherlands marks Modi’s second trip since 2017. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the Prime Minister will be in Amsterdam from May 15 to 17.
Prime Minister Modi said after his arrival in the Dutch capital that his visit will focus on strengthening trade and investment relations with the country, especially after the free trade agreement between India and the European Union.

During his two-day visit, the Prime Minister will hold talks with Rob Gittin and visit His Majesty King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima.
Modi will also address the Indian community during an event on May 16.
According to the Middle East News Agency, the Prime Minister will also meet with Dutch business leaders during his visit.
The visit will provide “an opportunity to strengthen the multi-faceted partnership between India and the Netherlands and engage with the largest Indian community in mainland Europe,” MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a social media post.
India and the Netherlands have significantly expanded cooperation in recent years across priority areas such as water, agriculture and health, going beyond trade and investment.
The Netherlands is also one of India’s largest trade destinations in Europe, with bilateral trade worth US$27.8 billion in 2024-25. It is also the fourth largest investor in India, with cumulative FDI reaching US$55.6 billion.
People-to-people relations remain a key pillar of bilateral relations between New Delhi and Amsterdam, as there are more than 90,000 non-resident Indians and people of Indian origin in the country.
